I.T. Systems Engineer Bear

Location: St. Louis,MO

The Systems Engineer is responsible for designing and maintaining reliable systems, for developing and refining images and imaging processes to reduce total cost of ownership. This position is accountable for managing the BABW IT store retro fits and installations which will be measured by delivery on-time, on-scope, and within budget as well as by store satisfaction, the number of help desk tickets generated due to projects/images, outsourced vender performance, and computer image version control.

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of an Associates Degree in I.T. or a related field and 3-5 years of related work experience. Previous project management experience, demonstrated customer service skills, excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as problem solving ability are required.

.NET Develobear (Software Developer)

This position is responsible to provide .NET development expertise for varous Microsoft (MS) platforms including Sharepoint and SQL Server. In addition, the Develobear will define, suggest and implement process improvements; estimate, scope and deliver solutions to support production processes and support and maintain custom applications.

Specifically, the principal accountabilities for this position include acting as the main developer and point of contact for custom-built production applications, defining, suggesting and implementing process improvements and best practices using Microsoft methodologies and platforms, implementing and maintaining company development standards and best practices, researching new technologies and recommending applications using MS technologies and providing expertise in development processes and applications that leverage the MOSS 2007/2010 framework.

Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Software Engineering or a related field and at least three years of directly related work experience. Candidates must have proven competency in C#, .NET Framework, SSIS, Subversion and MS SharePoint Services, strong analytical skills, demonstrated attention to detail, and excellent written and oral communication skills. Prior retail industry experience is a plus!


Distribution Center Op-bear-tunities - Groveport, OH

Financial Anabearlyst II - Corporate Analysis

Location: St. Louis, MO

This position is primarily responsible for performing reporting, analysis, planning, and forecasting on retail store sales. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining daily sales plans, daily sales reporting, and forecasting for all companies, assisting in development of the annual budget and monthly forecasting, and reviewing store by store financial statements and financial statement line items for unusual items and trends along with various other financial reporting and analysis of stores. Special projects may include analyzing various aspects of the business including analysis of store payroll, cost of sales, rent and other store related or BQ related expenses.

Qualified candidates will have:

Manager - Bear Web Design

The position of Manager - Bear Web Design will be an integral part of the organization with direct responsibility for enhancing our site to achieve an award winning guest experience. This individual will have direct responsibility over the Functional and User Interface Design aspects of our online properties. The Manager - Bear Web Design will have responsibility for working directly with representatives from Operations, Marketing, Sales and IT to develop strategies and design specifications to improve the usability, performance, and effectiveness of customer and user facing interfaces. This position will be responsible for overseeing the conceptual development, design, layout, graphics production and execution of creative deliverables for our corporate websites and virtual world.

Purchasing Bear

Location: St. Louis, MO

This position is responsible for managing the weekly supply distribution to the stores. This includes analyzing data for proper distribution amounts, distributing critical supply items, validating store quantities requested, and communicating with the warehouse daily.

Responsibilities also include validating the accuracy of STS inventory, working with Inventory Control to correctly update inventory, preparing purchase orders, and tracking vendor delivery. In addition, the position is responsible for calculating and preparing the distribution of event materials to the stores and for managing corporate office supply orders.

Qualified candidates will 2-3 years of purchasing experience in supply buying or purchasing and distribution with demonstrated analytic and customer service skills. An Associates or Bachelor's degree is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word are required; experience in Access is preferred.

Associate Bearstuff (Product Development) Manager

The Associate Bearstuff Product Development) Manager assists with assigned categories of product development for Build-A-Bear Workshop including development of product from start to finish, seasonal line planning and marketing recommendations. Responsibilities include shopping the market, translating trends appropriately for target customer and finalizing products with vendors. Additional responsibilities include negotiating costs to maintain company margins on product developed; developing line plans for seasonal deliveries; partnering with merchandise planning team to determine buys and product flow; partnering with store operations to determine store product layout that best represents appropriate seasonal product focus; selecting products to be used in national and store specific marketing; and reviewing print advertising proofs for accuracy and appropriateness of product. This job could require up to 15% travel both within the US and internationally.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in merchandising, textiles, or related field along with a minimum of three years of experience in product development. Prior experience negotiating product pricing is also required.
